The Department of Architecture at UNPAR was established in 1960, with the aim of responding to Indonesia’s need for qualified and professional architects. Its first campus was located at the Panti Budaya Building. As the number of students grew, the Faculty of Engineering rented the Olympia Bread Factory on Jalan Jendral Sudirman from 1964 to 1974. In 1973, the Faculty of Engineering finally had its own building on Jalan Ciumbeuleuit, now known as Building 4. By 1978, Building 5 was designated for the Department of Architecture and has since been used as the center for teaching and learning activities.
To this day, the Department is accredited with an “A” rating and has produced more than 4,000 graduates who are now working across the globe.

In addition to the growth in student numbers and facilities, the development of UNPAR’s Department of Architecture can also be seen in its evolving curriculum, vision, mission, and objectives, which continue to adapt to the demands of the times.
