In line with the key vision of the Master of Architecture Program—humane, innovative, and contextual—the curriculum structure of both the research and design tracks is divided into three major parts:
(a) The first part aims to introduce the major issues in architecture. The compulsory courses are: Issues in the Built Environment of Architecture, Issues in Architectural History and Theory, Issues in Architectural Research, and Issues in Architectural Design. These courses are general and mandatory for all master’s students, whether enrolled in the research track or the design track.
(b) The second part builds upon the first, aiming to contextualize these issues within architecture.
[Design Track]Socio-Spatial Context in Architecture, Cultural-Spatial Context in Architecture, Techno-Spatial Context in Architecture, Architectural Design Studio A and B, Advanced Architectural Theory, and Architectural Criticism and Appreciation.
[Research Track] All of these courses are compulsory for master’s students enrolled in the research track.
(c) The third part aims to sharpen competencies in selected architectural issues through elective courses and thesis writing. The compulsory requirements include: elective courses, architectural literature studies, and the integration of all acquired knowledge into the writing of an architectural thesis. Elective courses are structured according to the research roadmap and the expertise of each lecturer.
