Architectural Studio

The design studio is the main facility in the learning process of the Architecture Program at UNPAR. There are seven levels of design studios, from Architectural Design Studio 1 to Studio 7, with Studio 7 serving as the Final Architecture Studio (SAA), which represents the final stage of the undergraduate architectural design process. All studios focus on developing conceptual thinking, design exploration, and an understanding of spatial, cultural, and environmental contexts.

These studios are accommodated within three large spaces that are used alternately by students from different cohorts, based on the schedule and semester rotations. The rooms are designed to be flexible and open, encouraging collaboration between students and lecturers, as well as supporting independent learning activities outside of class hours.

The studio facilities include:

  • Designated desks / individual drawing tables for each student
  • Ergonomic chairs
  • Whiteboards / pin boards for discussions and presentations
  • LCD projectors for design reviews and public lectures
  • Power outlets at every desk
  • Campus Wi-Fi accessible to all users
Laboratory

The Architecture Program at UNPAR is equipped with various laboratories that support technology-based learning, experimentation, and design exploration. These laboratories are not only utilized in practical courses but also play a vital role in supporting students’ work development in design studios, research, and final projects.

Building Technology Laboratory
Heliodon/ Sunlight Simulator

To study the physical and environmental performance of buildings. It can be used for practical sessions in passive design simulation, natural lighting, artificial lighting, acoustics, and energy efficiency.

Digital Modeling and Simulation Laboratory
Virtual Reality (VR) an Augmented Reality (AR) Device
Drone

The Digital Modeling and Simulation Laboratory provides various digital design tools, such as drone mapping to capture clear block or site imagery, as well as augmented reality technology that enhances students’ spatial understanding and enables immersive design visualization.

Digital Fabrication Laboratorium
3D Printer

The Digital Fabrication Laboratory is designed to support the design exploration process through digital fabrication technologies, enabling students to create prototypes using 3D printing machines.

Architecture Fabrication Workshop
Machining Tools
Plotting Machine

The Architecture Workshop is a practical workspace where students create models, explore materials, and assemble design prototypes. It is equipped with a laser cutting machine for precise material cutting based on CAD, vector, and other digital files. Additional facilities include large worktables, a plotting machine, and a range of basic workshop tools.
